Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

Slinkee is a bookmark manager that helps people save, organize, and share links. This policy explains what information Slinkee collects, how Slinkee uses it, and the choices each person has about that information.

Information Slinkee collects

Slinkee collects the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you create an account, Slinkee collects your email address and an encrypted password (or an authentication token if you sign in with a third-party provider). You may optionally provide a display name.
  • Content you save. Bookmarks, collections, tags, notes, descriptions, and any metadata Slinkee fetches about the pages you save (such as page titles and favicons).
  • Usage data. Basic technical information generated by your interaction with the service, such as request timestamps, IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Slinkee uses this to keep the service running and to detect abuse.
  • Communications. If you contact Slinkee through the contact form or by email, Slinkee retains those messages so it can respond and keep a record of the conversation.

How Slinkee uses information

Slinkee uses the information above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the service.
  • Authenticate accounts and keep them secure.
  • Render bookmarks and collections back to the person who saved them and, where the owner has explicitly made a collection or tag public, to other visitors.
  • Respond to support requests and other messages directed at Slinkee.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Comply with applicable law and legal process.

How Slinkee shares information

Slinkee does not sell personal information. Slinkee shares personal information only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Service providers. Slinkee uses third-party infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase for authentication, database, and storage) to run the service. These providers process information on behalf of Slinkee and under contract.
  • Public content. Bookmarks, collections, or tags that you explicitly mark as public are visible to anyone who has the link. Anything not marked public stays private to your account.
  • Legal requests. Slinkee may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Slinkee, its users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Slinkee is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to a policy at least as protective as this one.

Data retention

Slinkee keeps account information and saved content for as long as the account is active. If you delete your account, Slinkee removes the associated content from production systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Backups are rotated on a regular schedule.

Your rights and choices

You can access, edit, and delete your bookmarks and collections at any time from inside the app. You can also delete your account, which removes the associated data as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request a copy of your personal information, correct inaccuracies, or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact Slinkee using the link below.

Security

Slinkee uses industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, scoped database access rules, and access controls on administrative tooling. No service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and report any suspected unauthorized access.

Children

Slinkee is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to Slinkee, please contact Slinkee so it can be removed.

Changes to this policy

Slinkee may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
